Cruise Packing Tips

If this is your first time to go on a cruise, I am guessing that you are in need of some help about cruise packing. As with any travel, what you pack will require some time to decide. You would want to do proper cruise packing so that you do not have to worry about what to wear and you can just go and have a good time.

Before you start your cruise packing, you need to consider some things about your trip first. What places are included in the cruise’s itinerary? Which places are you stopping at and what weather do these places have? Knowing which stops you will be making will help you figure out what you need to wear and other things that you would need to bring.

My first cruise packing tip for you is to keep your travel documents all in one place. Make sure that you have your cruise line tickets, the airline tickets, your passports, prescription medications that you need to take, your insurance files, and every pertinent document that you think you will need. For safety, bring a photocopy of each one and leave a copy with a friend at home so that she can send it to you if you misplace yours. Keep two sets of photocopies; one in your luggage and one in your carry on so you would be covered even if you lost either of those bags. Get all this out of the way and the rest of your cruise packing will be much easier.

Now on to the fun part: the clothes! The first thing you have to consider for your cruise packing is the kind of cruise that you are going on and how long it will be. Most cruises would have some formal nights; a 7-day cruise would have around 1 or 2. The men are expected to wear a dark suit and tie but tuxedos are not necessary. For the women, bring a gown or a nice cocktail dress. However, if you are going on a more relaxed cruise, you would not need your formal clothes and leave enough room in your bag for more casual wear. The locations you will be going to and the weather during that time will help you a lot with your cruise packing.

My last cruise packing tip for you is to not over-pack. The weight of your luggage should always be checked because airlines have a 50-pount limit on them. It will cost you a lot of extra dollars if you go beyond that. The best thing to do when cruise packing is to bring tops and bottoms that you can mix and match with each other.
